Keep it real. That’s photographer/filmmaker Scott Peterson's approach. For more than 25 years, Scott’s been keeping his clients happy with his delicious images. His passion for food (ask him about his technique for smoking ribs), music (don't get him started on banjo) community, technology and film is matched by his mastery of light in every shot.

Scott aims to bring the beautiful light of the Dutch Master’s to his photography. Not surprisingly, he hails from a family of Flemish painters and cooks. Lately Scott has been photographing farm life around the East Bay. "My earliest memories are from our farm in LaPorte, Indiana, so it's been a bit of a reawakening for me. And, it's exciting. Young farmers are really getting back to the earth and basics."

“You’ve got to tell a story with your image – whether it’s a product shot or still life,” Scott tells his University photography students. “And you do that by creating beautiful light, a relaxed set,  the right props, wardrobe and crew, and composing with a critical eye. Texture, mood, highlights and shadows are considered along with great attention to detail while keeping the set spontaneous.”
